About Us

The Catahoula State Bank was founded in Jonesville, Louisiana in 1904. The original brick bank building was built at that time and was located at the corner of Mound and First Streets. Captain J.W. Swayze was first president and Tom Mathews was the cashier. The Harrisonburg State Bank, Harrisonburg, Louisiana was issued a charter in 1907. The first board of directors were Riley J. Wilson, J.W. Waters, Dr. C.C. Pritchard, P.P. Bates, David N. Thompson, W.R. Webb, Tom B. Gilbert, Jr., M.F. Holloman, and Phil B. Crawford. The Catahoula State Bank, Jonesville, merged into the Harrisonburg State Bank, Harrisonburg, by resolution dated February 9, 1929, and became known as the Harrisonburg-Catahoula State Bank. It was upon the suggestion and recommendation of Judge R.M. Taliaferro, president, and with the approval of the board that the name of the bank be shortened to The Catahoula State Bank and popularly called The Catahoula Bank. This was done January 29, 1935. In March of 1992 The Catahoula State Bank opened a branch in Jena, Louisiana. At that time, The Catahoula State Bank was changed to Catahoula-LaSalle Bank.
